Glen Hauger brings more than 20 years of experience as a conductor, educator, performer, composer and arranger, with a deep passion for making music with others and bringing great works to life. Throughout his career as a music educator, he has worked with students in suburban, urban, and rural schools across Indiana.

He currently is orchestra director at Brownsburg High School, where he built the program from a small string group to an ensemble of more than 200 students. In just a few years, the program grew into a Top Three ISSMA state finalist. Previously, he served as band and orchestra director at Lawrence North High School, where he founded a full symphony orchestra program. He was band director for the Marching Pride of Lawrence Township, a Bands of America Grand National Finalist and Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade participant.

Beyond the classroom, Hauger has served as a guest conductor, clinician, and adjudicator throughout Indiana and across the country. His conducting experience includes performances
with the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra in Olomouc, Czech Republic, and the Belgrade Camerata in Belgrade, Serbia. As a performer, Hauger has played French horn with orchestras and bands throughout Indiana, Virginia and California. He performed as a soloist with the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps from Concord California on their American and European tour. He has also served on the brass staff of several world class drum corps.

Hauger holds a Master’s Degree in Conducting from Butler University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Ball State University. He has also served as an adjunct horn professor at Manchester University. His arrangements and compositions have been performed by ensembles across the United States and internationally, including in Colombia.

As an Indiana native, Hauger is grateful for the opportunity to lead the orchestra into its next chapter and to build alongside the musicians who make it a vital part of our community.
